June 9 - Depart Canada

Take an overnight flight to Dublin from your departure airport. You can make your own arrangements, or speak with your Emerald Escapes team to book flights.

June 10 - Welcome to Ireland

A Cead Mile Failte (100,000 welcomes) is extended to you upon arrival by your RIT driver and Tour Manager. Our first stop this morning will be in Downpatrick, where our patron saint, St. Patrick is laid to rest. Here we will enjoy a welcome lunch at Denvir’s, a 16th century Inn. Afterwards, we travel to Strangford Lough and the idyllic setting of many scenes from Game of Thrones. Here we enjoy a tour of Winterfell (Castleward) and we get into full GOT character as we dress up and enjoy a fun archery experience under the watchful eye of the Winterfell Master-at-arms! We then travel north to Belfast. Upon arrival, we will embark on a city tour and take in the political murals of the Falls and Shankill areas. This evening we will enjoy a welcome dinner at our hotel.

June 11 - Belfast & Titanic

Today is all things Titanic – we will visit the famous shipyards this morning to tour the Titanic Centre, voted the no 1 tourist attraction in Europe.

This afternoon, you will have time to enjoy Belfast city, where there is plenty to see and do, from historic sights to shopping. This evening is at leisure, and you can enjoy one of the cities many eateries and there is no shortage of great pubs too!

June 12 - Causeway Coastal Route

Today we head further north along the scenic Causeway Coastal Route stopping for refreshments at Glenariff National Park – the tea rooms here serve a fabulous Irish Coffee! Then it’s off to the Giant’s Causeway – a UNESCO heritage site. We will have plenty of time here to explore the iconic stones and hear the mythological stories of giant Finn McCool! We then travel through the 9 glens of Antrim to the last remaining walled city in Ireland, Derry. Here we will join a walking tour with our favourite local guide, Ronan McNamara who will tell us some of the fascinating history, including stories of ‘The Troubles’.

Dinner/ Overnight – Kee’s Hotel, Donegal

June 13- Yeat's Country & Westport

Today we head south towards rugged Connemara stopping at the Belleek Pottery Factory to learn the 18th century porcelain craft.

Then we travel through Yeats Country to Westport – probably Ireland’s prettiest village, and home to some of Ireland’s best pubs. We recommend spending some time on the main street and Matt Malloy’s pub is one of the best in all of Ireland, with fantastic live music every night.

June 14 - Kylemore Abbey & Connemara

Today we explore the wild and rugged landscape of Connemara. It remains one of the most beautiful & romantic places in Ireland. A drive around Murrisk Peninsula brings us to Delphi and Killary Harbour. Enjoy a visit to Kylemore Abbey on the shores of Kylemore Lough, a beautiful abbey which is still home to Benedictine nuns who arrive in 1919. This afternoon, we will meet a local guide in Galway city for a short walking tour. Afterwards, we recommend a walk down Shop Street and visiting one of the many jewellery stores which are home to the famous Claddagh ring. This evening is at leisure, where you have time to explore the many great pubs & restaurant in this fun & vibrant city.

June 15 – Cliffs of Moher & Ollie’s Food Tour

This morning, we depart about 10am for the mighty cliffs of Moher, where we can marvel at the breathtaking view.

Afterwards, we will embark on Ollie’s Food Tour, visiting many local producers, and finishing with an early fish supper at a famous Fish n’ chips spot in Doolin. Tonight, we will stay in the lovely village of Doolin, a lovely little village in Co. Clare.

June 16 – Sean’s Bar & Guinness

We venture east back towards Dublin today. On route, enjoy a late morning stop at Sean’s bar, Ireland’s oldest pub (over 1000 years old) and the birthplace of Irish whiskey. We then travel to Dublin and a visit to iconic Guinness Storehouse for a tour and a tasting of the famous black stuff! This evening will be at your leisure where the sights and sounds of the city are all on our doorstep!

Overnight – The Gresham Hotel, Dublin

June 17 – Dublin’s Fair City

Today is yours to discover and use your Hop On/Off ticket to get around this compact city. There is so much to see and do. We recommend a visit to EPIC where the emigration story will amaze or maybe a tour of one of the many distilleries and a wee dram of whiskey! This evening, we travel up the Dublin mountains for a traditional Irish evening with live entertainment, including Irish dancing. Guests are encouraged to join in the fun! Overnight – The Gresham Hotel, Dublin

June 18 – Farewell for now

Sadly, we take an early morning transfer to Dublin airport for your return flight to Canada.
